SYNOPSIS
This is a story about difference and friendship; Israela Stephanie Lev, 55 years old activist in the Tel Aviv LGBT community and Talleen Abu Hanna, 22, newly settled in Tel Aviv from Nazareth, today a beauty queen and celebrity in the modeling and Trans world. They met just a year ago in a sushi bar, an encounter that changed both their lives.

Talleen and Israela live five minutes walk from each other in an old working class neighborhood of Tel Aviv, near Yafa, but their homes and worlds are distinct. Israela’s apartment is at the top of a five-story building. The space painted from floor to ceiling with her artwork; part workshop; part religious shrine. In contrast, Talleen’s home is modern and basic, as if she just moved in last week; only the photos on the fridge and her Miss Trans Israel banner and tiara, her shisha and football, and the mezuzah as you enter tell us more, show us the contradictions.

Israela y Talleen explores their worlds and relationship; It is not only their ages that separate them, but their cultures, languages and very different histories. In a society that separates Arab from Jew; their friendship crosses many barriers and in the process rendering much of their differences invisible.

SYNOPSIS

Identical twins; Joel-Peter Witkin a photographer and Jerome Witkin a painter; despite both their creative visions and lives steeped in making art, share little in common and share less than one would imagine. A film about individual perception; creativity and the pursuit of art. At the same time, a film about life, love, loss and distance. Identical twins devoted to their individual process of making art and not to each other.
